A sports and cultural festival Visakha Uttkarsh was jointly organized by the sports club of Waltair Division East Coast Railway Sports Association, and East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organization-Waltair on Saturday evening.

This is the first of its kind festival organized by a Division of Railways to appreciate and recognize the great contribution of sportspersons.

The prominent players, who have brought laurels to the Railways and the Sector by participating in various events at national and international levels. Artists and dancers enlivened the evening with cultural programs and traditional dances and dances.

Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) President K. Rama Mohana Rao participated as the chief guest. Chief Electrical Engineer, E Co R, Basudev Panda, and Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, Anup Satpathy, and president, E Co Railway Women’s Welfare Organization, Waltair. Parijata Satpathy, graced the occasion. ADRM Operations Manoj Kumar Sahoo, ADRM infra Sudhir Kumar Gupta, vice-presidents of ECoRWWO Madhusmita Sahoo and Kavita Gupta, Sports Officer Pravin Bhati and Divisional Coordinator of ECoR Shramik Congress T. Mouliswar Rao and representatives of other organizations yes.

In total, 39 distinguished athletes were honored. While 11 were given lifetime achievement awards, 28 were felicitated with outstanding player awards. The cultural groups were appreciated by Mr. Basudev Panda. The Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented by Mr. Ramamohana Rao and Mr. Anup Satpathy, and Ms. Parijatha Satpathy gave best gifts to the athletes.

Appreciating the start of the railways to organize the event, Mr. Rama Mohan Rao, the Railway family is the first in promoting sports talents and this is the right time to appreciate the talented people who continue their spirit to climb higher.
