Balakrishna’s son-in-law, Sri Bharat contested as Vishakapatnam MP in the last elections. He lost by a narrow margin when the TDP polls were split by JD Lakshminarayana who contested on the Janasena ticket.
YSR Congress candidate, MVV Satyanarayana was the winner. The voters were not satisfied with his performance which was not up to the mark for a big city like Vishakapatnam.
For the past two months, the MP has been in the news for two theft cases. Both problems are known and the public believes them.
A section of the YSR Congress in the constituency is reserved for him. The angry MP announced that he would shift his business to Hyderabad and would no longer work in Vishakapatnam.
This campaign has further tarnished the MP’s image. This has weakened the Ruling party in Vishakapatnam Lok Sabha segment.
The ruling party will again hope that the votes distributed to the opposition will drive it to safety. The party may have to change its candidate for this seat.
