New Delhi: Lok Sabha proceedings on Tuesday were adjourned till 11.30 amid a heated exchange between BJP and opposition members over some comments made by Congress president Mallikarjan Kharg.

As the House convened, members of the treasury bench tried to raise the issue of the Congress leader’s comments on Monday, after which opposition members also started protesting.

During the question hour, which lasted for less than 10 minutes, a question and a supplement were taken.

While the sit-in continued, Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings till 11.30 pm. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chauhan and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were engaged in a heated exchange over the foreigner’s comments.

At a rally in Rajasthan on Monday, Kharg claimed that while the Congress stood up for the country and helped to achieve independence while its leaders made great sacrifices, “not even a dog of the BJP was lost” for the country.
