Visakhapatnam: The state government is planning to set up an Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Meliaputti such as Seetampet ITDA went to the newly established Parvathipuram Manyam district after reorganization of districts.
The ITDA in Seetampeta has more than 1,200 tribal families with a population of 1.5 lakh covering 20 tribal subplan mandals. Seetampeta, Bhamini, Veeraghattam and the mandals of Palakonda were merged with Parvathipuram. The remaining tribal population in Meliaputti, and Patapatnam, Hiramandalam and Kotturu constituencies in Patapatnam assembly constituency stands at 2.5 lakh with about 1.5 lakh voters.
The state has eight ITDAs – Paderu, Seetampeta, Parvathipuram, Rampachodavaram, Kotaramachandrapuram or KR Puram, Chinturu, Nellore and Srisailam. About 66 mandals are coming under these ITDAs.
MLA Reddy Santhi met the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party and is said to have discussed issues in the constituency.
