“Cosmic Love,” Prime Video’s new dating show, challenges contestants to follow their hearts — and the stars.

While there are many dating shows with matchmaking elements, such as “Are You the One?” And “Married at First Sight,” “Cosmic Love” separates itself from the pack. Instead of using experts to make matches, “Cosmic Love” uses stars.

That’s right: The reality show uses astrological compatibility, determined by interpretations of two astrologers’ birth charts, to determine the four contestants with eligible matches.

Instead of just using sun signs, the show “goes to,” the narrator says in the first voice-over introduction. The show describes a birth chart as “a map of how all the planets were aligned at the exact time they were born.”

Read on for details on the dating show du jour, which premiered on August 12.

The trailer shows how ‘Cosmic Love’ will work

On the show, four leads — two men and two women — try to find love among 16 partners.

Each astrologically derived “perfect match” between suitors. However, they will not know WHO They enter the “Astro Chamber”. The sound in the Astro Chamber offers an ideal match.

An extended trailer on YouTube shows that the cast will also have to navigate the inevitable drama that comes with being a contestant on a reality television series. All the singles live together at the “Cosmic Compound” and go on dates arranged by the “Astro Chamber”.

Meet the four leads, aka ‘Elements’, in search of love

The leads are named after the elements because each represents a different astrological element of fire, water, earth, and air.

  • Connor Shennan, a 26-year-old firefighter and Gemini.
  • Maria Rodriguez, a 27-year-old makeup artist and Capricorn.
  • Phoebe Davis, a 28-year-old digital marketer and fitness competitor and Leo.
  • Noel Allen, a 30-year-old personal trainer and Pisces.

The cast is introduced by their sun signs

Instead of introducing their profession, like other shows, the cast of “Birhani Mohabbate” is paired with Astrology. The narrator also uses their sun signs to provide insight into their personalities – for example, in the first episode, the narrator says that Morgan is a Virgo, he likes “a project”.

‘Astro Chamber’ sounds familiar

The colorful, magical “Astro Chamber” is voiced by actor Kerry Summers from “A Different World.” Summers has voiced many characters in her career on shows such as “Regrets,” “Like Tool by Ginger,” “Codename: Kid’s Next Door,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Big Hero 6: The Series.”

TODAY’s Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager weighed in on the show

Recently, Jeena and Huda had their birth charts analyzed by an astrologer. After watching a snippet of the trailer with Huda and Jenna on TODAY, the hosts are optimistic that the show will be a success.

“I think it might work. Don’t you?” Jenna was taken aback. Huda replied, “I think there’s some… compatibility. Isn’t that wild when you think about it?”

Jaina then focused on her signs. Gina noted that Huda is a Leo, a sign “looking for someone who can love them, appreciate them and take care of their emotional needs.” The best matches for Leo are Aries, Gemini and Sagittarius – the sign of Jaina.
