Hockey India has announced a new sponsorship agreement with steelmaking company, Tata Steel. With this deal, the brand is set to become the official partner of the Odisha International Men’s Hockey World Cup (FIH) Odisha 2023.

The 2023 championships, which will be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in Odisha next year, will be the 15th championships and the fourth time India has hosted the event, with the first taking place in 1982 in Mumbai.

President of Hockey India Dilip Tirkeycommented, “We are delighted to welcome Tata Steel into our family as official partners for the Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023. They have made an outstanding contribution to promoting Indian hockey, elevating the sport to new heights and making this World Cup even greater. . We look forward to a fruitful association.”

Furthermore, the championship was held in Delhi in 2010 and in Odisha in 2018. The championship which will be held next year is expected to be attended by 16 countries.
