Vishakapatnam: A shopkeeper and his son were killed while his wife and daughter sustained burn injuries in a fire at their shop near Krishna Bazaar Center in Narsipatnam town of Anakkapalle district early Sunday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Navara Malleswara Rao, alias Nanaji, owner of Ambica Jewelers and his son Navara Moulesh, an engineering student.

Police and fire officials said the fire broke out due to an electrical short around 3.05 am on Sunday. After receiving the information, the firemen reached the spot and managed to enter the first floor of the house, where the girl was found unconscious. After the girl understood, she said that her parents and her brother were on the second floor, where firefighters found the three people unconscious.

All four of them were transferred to a hospital. Nanaji and her son were declared dead while the mother and daughter duo were being treated.
