Jamshedpur, 17 Dec: BJP member Jamshedpur Mahanagar sought the intervention of Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais regarding police action against party leader Vikas Singh in an old case.

District BJP President Gunjan Yadav led a delegation of party leaders to the Collectorate and met Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav. He said Mangga police raided Vikas Singh’s house after midnight in an attempt to arrest him and in failing to arrest him, he misbehaved with his family members.

‚ÄúVikas Singh is a senior party leader and is known to actively participate in social and religious events. He is always in contact with the community and the district government. But the police action against him in the middle of the night was something unprovoked and was motivated by the order of the Cabinet Minister of the state government. The police acted under pressure from the Minister. This is unconstitutional and absolutely condemnable and the BJP is vehemently against it,” said Yadav.
