Scorpio (October 23-November 21): Scorpio writer Sylvia Plath had a troubled, melodramatic relationship with romance. For example, in one of his short stories, he has a female character who says, “His love is the cover of twenty stories, a rope in the throat, a knife to the heart.” I urge you to avoid contact with people who think and feel like this – as glamorous as they may seem. In my opinion, your romantic destiny in the coming months should be better, interesting in healthy ways, and conducive to your well-being. There is no need to associate yourself with the shadows when there are enough bright helpers.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21): I love Sagittarian healer and author Caroline Myss because she is spiritual and practical, compassionate and powerful. Here’s a quote from his work that I think will be helpful to you in the coming weeks: “Let go of your past, it’s over! Forgive yourself for what you think you did or Don’t, and start focusing on what you do now. To make sure you get the most out of his advice, I’ll add one more insight from author Augustine Burroughs: “You will You cannot be a prisoner of your past – because you can only live in the past within your own mind.

CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19): How would you respond if you learned that the $55 t-shirt you’re wearing was made by a Haitian kid who earned 10 cents for his work? Will you stop wearing a shirt? Donate it to a thrift store? Send money to the United Nations agency UNICEF, which works to protect child labor in Haiti? I recommend the last option. I also suggest that you use this immediately to engage in a calm meditation on what you can do to reduce the suffering in the world. This is a great time to stretch your imagination to understand how your personal life is intertwined with the lives of countless others, many of whom you don’t even know. And I hope you think about how to offer additional healing and blessings not only to your allies, but to strangers as well. What’s in it for you? Will it bring any selfish gain your way? You may be surprised how this leads you to interesting connections that expand your world.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18): Aquarian philosopher Alfred North Whitehead wrote, “The stupid question is the first notice of some entirely new development.” He also said, “Every really new idea seems crazy at first.” With these thoughts in mind, Aquarius, I can tell you that you are now in silly question season. I invite you to enjoy dreaming up such questions. And as you indulge in that fertile joy, add another: celebrate the season of crazy ideas.

PISCES (February 19-March 20): We all love to follow stories: the stories we live, the stories we know, and the stories told in movies, TV shows, and books. A disproportionately high percentage of the entertainment industry’s stories are sad or doom or terribly painful. They inspire us that such stories are common. They darken our view of life. While I wouldn’t try to avoid all of these stories, Pisces, I would encourage you to question whether it might be wise to limit so many of your emotions. Next week will be a great time to explore this possibility. Be willing to say, “These sad, tormented, painful stories are not the ones I want to invite into my imagination.” Try this experiment: For the next three weeks, find the stories that come up the most.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): Virginia Woolf wrote a quote that I suspect will apply to you in the coming weeks. He said, “There is no denying the wild horse in us, to run at great speed, to fall on the loose sand, to feel the earth roaming; Positively – for stones and grass there is a relationship of friendship, no one ends. The reality is that desire captures us.” Here’s my question for you, Aries: How do you harness your wild horse energy? I hope the self-sufficient man in you takes the reins and directs the horse. Will serve you and your constructive works. It is good to join in some extraordinary speed, too. But I will be rooting for the most temperate and disciplined galloping.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): “The failure of love can be the cause of most of the world’s woes,” writes the poet Marie Huey. I agree with that statement. Most of us have painful experiences that revolve around people who no longer love us and people whose lack of love for us makes us feel hurt. That’s bad news, Taurus. The good news is that you now have more power than usual to heal the love failures you have endured in the past. You also have an enhanced ability to heal others who have suffered from love failures. I hope you will be generous in your ministries!

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20): Many Geminis tell me that they are often partially awake as they fall asleep. In their dreams, they may work overtime trying to solve waking life problems. Or they lie in bed in the dark pondering complex ideas that fascinate them, or perhaps ruminating on plot developments in a book they’re reading or a TV show they’re binging on. If you are a victim of such behavior, I would ask you to tone it down for a while. In my opinion, you need to relax your mind more deeply and allow it to play wonderfully with neutral thoughts and dreams. You have a sacred duty to yourself to explore the mysterious and moving emotions that defy rational thought.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Here are my two important messages for you. 1) Remember where you are hiding important things. 2) Remember that you have hidden some really important things. Got it? Please note that I am not questioning your desire to close a secret or two. I am not criticizing you for wanting to store a treasure that you are not yet ready to use or display. It is completely understandable if you want to keep a part of your inner world limited to certain people for some time. But as you engage in any or all of these activities, make sure you don’t lose touch with your valuables. And don’t forget that you are touching them.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): I know I don’t need to lecture you on expressing your sensitivity. Nor do you need to sell products and incentives. As a Leo, you often have great skills in the epicurean arts. But as you prepare to shine in the lush and hearty heart of the season of sensuality, it can’t hurt to offer you a pep talk from fellow leo bon vivant, James Baldwin. He said: “To be sensitive is to respect and rejoice in the life force, in life itself, and to be present in everything, from the pursuit of love to the breaking of bread.”

Virgo (August 23-September 22): Many Virgos are on a lifelong quest to develop the skill Sigmund Freud described: “In small matters, trust the brain, in large, the heart.” And I suspect that you are now at a critical point in your efforts to master this wisdom. Important decisions are being made regarding both small and big matters. I believe you will do the right thing as long as you empower your mind to do what it does best and your heart to do what it does best.

Libra (September 23-October 22): Social media like Facebook and Twitter feed on our anger. Their algorithms are designed to increase our hate and anger. I confess that I have fallen half way through their trap. I am sometimes tempted to feel greed and anger, although these emotions comprise a small minority of my overall emotional range. As an antidote, I seek practical experiences that awaken my wonder and greatness and holiness. Over the next two weeks, Libra, I invite you to develop a focus like mine. It’s time for a phase of minimal anger and hatred — and maximal respect and fear.
