In a major breakthrough to strengthen the educational infrastructure, the Government of Assam today laid the foundations for the Government College of Law, Jorhat in Kaliapani.

Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the financial amount was Rs 14.74 Crore.

He added that the law university will be completed in 2 years.

The northeastern state will also take a hit with the creation of nine more Law Colleges.

Meanwhile, under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, 3k High Schools will be upgraded to Senior High Schools in 2022.

“Strengthening the education infrastructure is a top priority for the Assam Government. Glad to have laid the foundation for Government Law College, Jorhat in Kaliapani. The organization cr 14.74 Rs will be completed in 2 years. Excited to share that we will have 9 more Law Colleges. Under #NEP2020, 3K high schools will be upgraded to Sr Sec schools in 2022. We will also increase the number of universities in Assam. Ministers Ranoj Pegu, Jogen Mohan; MPs Tapan Kumar Gogoi & Kamakhya Prasad Tasa; MLA Renupoma Rajkhowa & Ex-MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi also participate.” – Sarma captioned the post on FB.
