The ARC women’s volleyball team played host to Santa Rosa but were less than hospitable to them as ARC beat the Bear Cubs 3-0, taking their record to 8-5.
Katelyn Meyer has repeatedly displayed incredible hustle when making dive saves, while playing with a player who appeared to be injured.
Freshman Mary June Ubag threw Santa Rosa off balance with her solid serves and exposed weaknesses and found good scoring opportunities.
Brianne Whitt made the set-up passes for ARC’s scoring machine Dani Schoen who made it seem personal as she hit ball after ball showing that every scoring opportunity in the back will be done with the intention of dominating. ARC leads set 25-13.
The second set began as soon as the first was over, as Tate Dobbins provided Santa Rosa’s best opportunity to get back into the game with her scoring attempt, but sophomore Madison Hunzinker’s defense. made it difficult for Santa Rosa as the Beavers confidently won the second set 25-9.
The cheerleaders, which included Adam Lopez and other members of ARC’s very talented team, blew the roof away with each score.
“They come and support us in every game, so of course we won’t miss the opportunity to show them the same support! We all have that kind of love,” Lopez said of the women’s volleyball players.
That support must have helped ARC quite a bit, because outside hitter Candice Reynoso correctly executed the fireballs and gave ARC eight unanswerable points to start the third set. . The Beaver finished off Santa Rosa convincingly after 3 games in a row with the final ending 25-21.
With another win on the books, the women’s volleyball team will face Modesto on Wednesday.
